I am sorry to say that I have never read any of these 50 books, not even Frankenstein by Mary Shelley which is on the list.
I also found an interesting Top 100 Books: The Meta-List in Newsweek online.

I am proud to say that I have read many of the books on the top 100 list. Was a little surprised by a few of the works. Disappointed that Alice and Wonderland didn't make the list, especially since Wind and the Willow did.
I have read several from the top 100 e.g. Orwell's 1984 but from the list of 50, I have read none.
